Congratulation's to P&DSAA angler Mark Reed - Claiming 2nd place at St Columb SAC's Open Comp 2017.
Mark had a Thornback Ray of 13lb 10oz & 14dr - A cracking fish & a new P&DSAA shore record.

A well supported event & good attendance for the weigh in, at St Columb's 'Silver Ball'. 5 fish in excess of 100% one day weight, with the top 3 fish coming in at between 135.32% & Kevin Lenderyou's cracking Thin Lipped Mullet of 224.87%!!! To win the Open.

Of the 19 fish returned to the scales, absolutely none went to waste. A well supported 'Grand Raffle', saw some great prizes - with Sean Johns winning the top prize of dinner for two at 'Nathan Outlaws'! Every angler attending the weigh in with a sign on slip, recieved a free packet of Sidewinder 'Skerries Eels', courtesy of Kiddy Wholesale. The hot pork rolls with crackling, apple sauce & roast potatoes, were well recieved & plenty of banter, fishing talk & the inevitable 'One that got away' stories.

Tintagel Sea Angling Club held its open at the weekend and despite the weather 64 anglers braved the conditions.
Twenty two fish were brought to the scales with eleven different species.
1st prize of £200 went to Tintagel SAC club angler Wayne Shilling with a bass of 2.548kg (112.4%)
2nd place also went to club angler Terry Anderson with a bass of 2.483kg (109.53%) who picked up a AFAW six & bait rod.
3rd place went to Mark Bidgood with a rockling of 793g (107.6%) who picked up a Penn Fathom reel.
4th Place went to Eddie Gummow with a scad of 397g (107.59%) who won a AFAW rod.
5th place went to Shane Hawken with a scad of 388g (105.15%) who also picked up a AFAW rod.
6th place went to Ron Moody with a huss of 5.177kg (103.75%) who won a SLOSH reel
