Another good turnout for the second leg of the 'FOUR SEASONS'. 44 angler's signed on & 12 fish were returned to the weigh in.
The top 4 fish all in excess of 100% one day weight. Ron Morris of Grenville SAC won the competition with a thornback ray of 4.230kg, (about 9lb 5oz). Well done Ron!
The rest of the fish were Bullhuss & Gilthead Bream. Another cracking weigh in, this time at The Silver Ball in St Columb. Big thanks to all of the staff there, Sean & all at St Columb SAC for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Padstow having a particularly good showing this time around, with Steve, Martin & Ed taking 2nd, 3rd & 4th & Mia narrowly being edged out of the top 7 into 8th. This lifts P&DSAA from the bottom of the table into 2nd place, with only 10% now seperating Grenville, Padstow & St Columb!
A big well done to all that signed on & fished the comp, it's the participation & attendance of the weigh in's that make these events possible, keep it up!
Ron wins £88, Steve £66, Martin £44 & Ed £22. Well done to them & all of the angler's who returned fish to the scales.
Paul Hawken also recieved, (eventually!!!), his 'Four Seasons' coat for being last year's overall top individual angler.

With the worst summer storm to hit our shore's in a decade....This was always going to be a challenge, for anyone that entered. Despite the tough condition's, there was a sign on of 41 angler's......But the obvious difficulty faced by all involved was apparant, as there were just 2 fish returned to the scales. 1st place was P&DSAA's Martin Rickard with a bass of 3.8.5. 70.42%odw & 2nd place was claimed by Grenville SAC's Shane Hawken with a bass of 3.0.8. 60.41%odw....Congatulation's to them!
Martin won £82 & Shane £61.50. The remaining unclaimed prize money of £61.50 was donated to the Padstow Lifeboat.
There was rumour of a rare 'spotted dab', but nobody seems able to confirm this at present!

Martin's Bass & 1st place finish, lift P&DSAA to the top of the Interclub table, albeit by a narrow margin! & himself to the top of the individual angler standing's, as he also came 3rd in the 2nd leg. Shane now sit's in joint 2nd place with fellow Grenville angler Chris Phillips. Still a close run thing as far as the Club championship is standing.... So with P&DSAA hosting the final leg & the best of 2 species.... it's certainly all to fish for in the 4th & final leg in November. See you all then.
An absolutely cracking night at St Dennis Working Mens Club, hosted by Grenville SAC. Despite the trying condition's & lack of fish returned, the night was full of good natured, interclub banter & proved to be yet another fantastic social event. Pasty & a pint was the order of the night, as joke's & tales were exchanged, as well as the innevitable 'one that got away'.
Special thank's to Ron Morris & all at Grenville SAC for a great evening.
A massive well done to the angler's from all four club's to contributing to another well attended event.
FINAL LEG - sat/sun, NOVEMBER 26th/27th (start 9 am sat)

There were 27 fish returned to the scales, including - Bullhuss, Bass, Ballan Wrasse, Thick Lip Mullet, Flounder, LSD & Rockling. a good sign on was reflected in a great turnout for the weigh in, at Padstow's GOLDEN LION. Padstow's Leigh Kimbrell took 1st place, with a Superb Huss in excess of 15lb & a flounder - with a combined % of 202.368 (odw).
2nd was Grenville's Chris Philip's with a wrasse & a flounder - 188.744 (odw), this propelled Chris to an overall points tally of 14 for the year & he wins the overall individual angler for 2016. Well done Chris!
There was a tight finish for the next 4 places - Ron Brown 158.598 - Pete Wilkins 157.816 - Ron Moody 157.659 & Shane Hawken 154.834.
With 4 angler's in the top 7, Grenville SAC reclaimed the crown as 4 season's champions, Padstow finishing 2nd, St Columb 3rd & Tintagel 4th.
Congratulation's to Grenville SAC & their angler's!
Well done to all the angler's who entered the final leg & especially those returning for the weigh in on the Sunday. The camaraderie & friendly competition between the angler's & clubs is what makes these event's & this competition so special. Long may it continue!
A big thank you to Martin & Sarah Rickard at The Golden Lion, another fantastic evening at an excellent venue & hot pork rolls, with all the trimming's & roast potatoes were cetainly well recieved! Congratulation's also to Martin - finishing 2nd in the individual angler standing's.
This competition has been very well supported throughout the year, by all the club's involved. Very well organised, thank's to Nigel, Geordie, Ron & Steve & alway's top hospitality from each club's weigh in venue's - The Wooton's Hotel, The Silver Ball, St Dennis Working Men's Club & The Golden Lion.
