grenville arms open competition
A really good night in St Dennis, for Grenville SAC's Open weigh in. The event was well attended with angler's & their families, from a number of affiliated clubs. As well as the impressive top 8 fish, there was also bass, wrasse, shore rockling, smooth hound's, thin lip mullet & a 9lb thornback ray that didn't quite make the final winner's rostrum. Well done to all angler's that entered the competition, returned fish to the scales & especially to this year's winners.
A fantastic social event hosted by Grenville SAC, with laugh's & banter aplenty. A brilliant evening was had by all that attended. There was a raffle, with a large array of prizes & some very welcome & tasty, pasties & roast potatoes. A nice touch was that the 2 junior entrant's both recieved prizes of rig organiser's, lures & a tackle bag. The event was hosted by Grenville's irrepressible & unrivalled John Keast, who did a top job of compering, keeping order & presenting the winner's. Well done Keasty! & thank you for a great night.

There was rumour of a rare 'spotted dab', but nobody seems able to confirm this at present!
An absolutely cracking night at St Dennis Working Mens Club, hosted by Grenville SAC. Despite the trying condition's & lack of fish returned, the night was full of good natured, interclub banter & proved to be yet another fantastic social event. Pasty & a pint was the order of the night, as joke's & tales were exchanged, as well as the innevitable 'one that got away'.
Special thank's to Ron Morris & all at Grenville SAC for a great evening.
A massive well done to the angler's from all four club's to contributing to another well attended event.

26 senior's & 1 junior signed on for 2016's 'Camel Cup' - This is our annual Xmas competition & alway's a top fixture in the club's calendar.
We had some cracking weather & there were also some very good fish back to the scales, with 3 fish in excess of 100% odw.
There was a good turnout from participating angler's & their families for the weigh in at The Golden Lion,
with Bass, Coalfish, Flounder, LSD & Thick lipped mullet weighed after a good day's fishing.
(with the vast majority of the flounder & the LSD returned alive)
The result's were tallied by P&DSAA Competition secretary - Steve Rodding & P&DSAA Fish recorder - Leigh Kimbrell.
Huge thank's to Martin, Sarah & their staff, for not only a fantastic evening,
but also the wholly impressive spread of food that was laid on.
Competition for the top 10 spot's was fierce, with the crown of King or Queen of the Camel, & the kudos that deserve's, up for grabs & also the awesome Xmas hamper's. (This year organised & compiled by Rebecca & Patrick Bate)
Big thank you to Becky & Pat, they did an absolutely brilliant job! As did young Lily Bate & Milli - Eva
with the selling of the evening's raffle ticket's. All of the youngster's attending were rewarded with a selection box.
All in all a good day's fishing, rounded off with some really good food, top prizes, great company & fun for all the family.
This year's winning fish was a bass of 2.8970kg - 127.79% (odw)
